I was wondering if you’ve done any research on cat pens or crates, for bringing in strays and quarantining in my bathroom, for example. I have an old wire dog crate, but it just doesn’t seem well suited for a cat. Right now, I care for a TSR tortie who lives on my patio. I have 3 indoor cats. She is FIV+ and so I watch her closely for changes in her health. She’s not spicy, so I can pick her up by the scruff and transport her to the vet. I have had to do this over the winter for an upper respiratory infection. She spent 3 weeks in my bathroom, trying to modify the environment. It’s not right to keep her in there. She’s showing signs of needing to go to the vet again, so I’m desperate for advice. She may only be 4-5 lbs., and 3 years old, but I need an enclosed pen for her when these situations occur. I have no idea what to choose.

Hi Debbie, thank you for commenting! This is a good question; we haven’t done much research on appropriate pens or crates for cats, but it’s an interesting subject that we’d like to cover at some point. I know that Kitten Lady and other cat fosterers like soft-sided crates with mesh windows similar to this one, so when we do cover this subject, I anticipate that this type of crate will come up first in our rankings. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I’m not sure it will fit my bathroom, though, so I settled on using a large cat carrier and taking the top off. Putting her favorite blanket in it, using child gate for bathroom door. Keeping stress low while she’s recuperating from illness when she gets sick ((she is feral and FIV+), when I need to take her to the vet and keep her inside to ensure she gets well.

I’m looking for cat tree condo that I can put on my first floor apartment patio (covered) to provide some entertainment and height for my feral fur baby. Something that isn’t crazy expensive, can be outside, but brought inside for winter (assembly isn’t impossible), doesn’t have to be attached to anything to be secure..like the aluminum siding. Is there such thing as weatherproof? Or could I do that myself?id love to make my patio into a catio, just for her and the only other feral cat that comes to eat. I’d like to sit out on my patio without worrying that my 1 ( of 3) cats will run out and I have to go searching for him because he wants to play with her. I’ve asked Chewy and the items were carpeted at base. Which reminds me, I’ve git lots if spiders and stuff, since I’m in a wooded area. I guess a don’t want to bring it in. Looking for ideas

Looking for good heavy duty gloves to wear for TNR and handling spicy cat for my own protection.

I love your website and YouTube channel! I have a 4-year-old Ragdoll cat that will only eat dry food and I am constantly on the hunt for the best quality dry food. I was hoping that you could review Carna4 Hand crafted cat food chicken formula, they are a Canadian brand which I recently heard of and started to feed to my cat, he seems to do well on the food so far.

We are preparing to move to Australia and I was excited that you reviewed Open Farm because that was one of the brands available in Australia. They have a very limited variety of brands they sell over there, I couldn’t find any of the ones I feed to my cat in the States, during my research I found that they have a brand called Absolute Holistic air dried chicken & hoki cat food which is a brand from New Zealand, however I don’t think they sell it in the U.S. If you’re able to get your hands on it, could you also review the brand? I could not find any reviews of the brand or their food online.

Hi Jiali, thanks for reaching out! We are currently working on expanding our selection of reviews of products that are available outside of the United States, and I’ve noted Absolute Holistic as one we should cover in the near future. Thank you, and good luck with your move to Australia!
